TAMPA - If your home entered into foreclosure any time in 2009 or 2010 you could be entitled to relief.
For certain applicants it could mean money in their pocket or a reduced house payment.
On the other end of the spectrum we also found cash assistance for those looking to buy a house.
HUD-approved housing counseling agency Tampa Bay CDC works to match distressed homeowners with modification and relief programs, among them the Independent Foreclosure Review.
Fourteen major lenders are taking part in the program, and some homeowners report as much as $150,000 in mortgage principal reduction
The Independent Document Review deadline to apply has been extended to December 31, since not many of the 4 million who may qualify have applied.
In cases where people lost their home, the review could lead to a cash settlement, in some cases topping $100,000.
Now if you are looking to buy a home there's help for that too. Wells Fargo is offering as much as $15,000 toward a down payment to those who are purchasing a home in the city of Tampa.
