Terry Sapp says she did not know every carrier is not created equal when it comes to coverage where she lives in Pasco County.
An app may have helped Sapp to pick a stronger provider for the areas where she lives and works.
It’s called Open Signal ( http://wfts.tv/1926cLH ). Its creators say the app has compiled a data base of cell phone towers, cell phone signal strength readings and Wi-Fi access points around the world to generate a comprehensive coverage map.
The app is Droid and iPhone friendly and its free. Open Signal compiles their information from data shared by users of the app on signal strength and data speeds. So their cover map is only as good as the location of the majority of its users.
