TAMPA BAY - Wesley Chapel retirees Larry and Judy Walter use to dream of spending their 21st wedding anniversary in Ireland. They say Randall Trusty who worked at A World of Adventures Travel Agency worked hard to gain their trust. He did and it cost them thousands.
The I-Team exposed how Trusty convinced both the Walters and Sue and John Rapp that their over seas trips needed to be booked via American Express. Trusty said he put the trips on his card and requested checks or cash from his clients.
During our investigation Pasco Sheriff's investigators arrested the 46-year-old for scheming to defraud more than $20,000, money clients paid him for trips that were never booked.
Larry Walter testified against Trusty in court. The jury returned late Tuesday with a guilty verdict but trusty was not there to hear it.
Both the Walters and the Rapps waited more than two years for justice to be served on the man who stole so much more than their money. Now they will wait some more.
The judge has issued a bench warranty and the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says their warrants unit will be looking for Trusty.
