TAMPA - Just minutes after the City of Tampa issued a boil-water notice for areas of New Tampa on September 15, subscribers of Alert Tampa got an email blast.
With Alert Tampa, water customers can learn of boil water notices, major road closures due to repairs and other time-sensitive information faster than other methods that are used by the city.
Residents can register for the service online at www.tampagov.net/AlertTampa . Subscribers should register to receive informational messages.
Other activities Alert Tampa may communicate involve mandatory hurricane evacuations, gas leaks, hostage situation or any other critical threat.
