TAMPA - In this week's Tampa Bay Business Journal report, editor Alexis Muellner talks about the Republican National Convention's business and economic impact on the Bay Area.
The Tampa Bay Business Journal asked eight Bay Area business people what was on their calendar during RNC week. The number one item on their agenda was to foster economic development connections.
They hope to pass along to RNC visitors how big the economic opportunities are for companies that want to do business in the Tampa Bay region.
A major question is what will be the economic impact of the RNC. A report by Jones Lang LaSalle says the convention could bring more than $150 to the region.
However, the true impact could result from the regional cooperation various economic development organizations the RNC fostered. Stephen Siena, who authored the report, says a more unified economic pitch from Bay Area agencies could attract relocating firms and other conventions.
