TAMPA - For all the Girl Scout cookie lovers out there, you have a new tasty treat to enjoy this year.
The Girl Scouts will celebrate its 100th anniversary with the release of a new cookie, called “Savannah Smiles.” The new sweet is a bite-sized lemon wedge cookie that is dusted in powdered sugar.
The cookie is named after the hometown of the Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low.
According to the Girl Scouts website , the new cookie is a throwback to past customer favorites.
“This lemon wedge cookie is cool and crisp, with just the right number of lemon chips to deliver tiny bursts of flavor. And, when you hold it right, you’ll quickly be reminded of that world-famous 'Brownie Smile,'" the website said.
The new sweet is not expected to crack the top three best selling Girl Scout cookies. Those include: Thin Mints, Samoas, and Tagalongs.
