Sean Daly: Holiday Lights in the Gardens - If you love holiday lights, the place to go is Holiday Lights in the Gardens in Largo.

The elaborate light display Holiday kicks off this weekend at the Florida Botanical Gardens.


The display features more than 500,000 environmentally friendly twinkling LED lights, an all-new laser light show and an expansion of lights into the new vinery garden and fountains at McKay Creek.

Holiday Lights in the Gardens is open 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily and runs through Jan. 1. Admission is a recommended minimum donation of $2 per person and free for children younger than 12.

Other events scheduled during the Holiday Lights event include a gift and plant sale Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a dog parade Dec. 29 starting at 1 p.m.
