Kids and drugs is a tough topic for some of us. And nowadays it seems prescription drugs dominate.
Shelly Mowrey from Partnership for a Drug Free Arizona had some useful tips for dealing with teens who may be hiding drugs.
First of all as parents, you have the right to ask your kids if they are on drugs, Mowrey said. If they answered yes, be prepared to address the issue. Mowrey also adds that if you suspect drug use, most likely that is the case.
But how do you find the proof? She divulged many interesting places that teens hide drugs. For example, inside their jeans by the waist in the seams located near the front pockets, or opening up the seems inside a baseball cap. Mowrey said another trend is hiding drugs in items they can buy online.
Bottom-line, if you suspect drug use, don’t blow it off but instead address the issue head on.
