ORLANDO - The judge who presided over the nationally televised Casey Anthony trial has a few words about the media.
Judge Belvin Perry, who decided to keep the names of the jury in the case a secret until at least October 25, says the media exhibited shameful behavior during the trial.
Perry wrote "It was reported that television ratings for the trial were extraordinary. Clearly, the broadcast of an official and serious court proceeding such as this trial where a young girl was dead and her mother faced the death penalty devolved into cheap, soap-opera-like entertainment."
He said using the public record law to have the jurors' names released had "become simply a tool to sell a story."
The Orlando area mother was found not guilty on July 5 of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee back in 2008.
