The Roots drummer Questlove's been waiting a decade to say it, and fans have been waiting just as long to hear the words: Ladies and gents, D'Angelo has made his return to the stage in the States.

The R&B singer joined The Roots on stage during the Bonnaroo music festival in Manchester, Tennessee, for a "Superjam" in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It was D's first performance on U.S. soil in 12 years, though he's done a few shows in Europe in recent months.

The "Untitled (How Does it Feel)" singer opened his hour-plus set with Jimi Hendrix's "Have You Ever Been (to Electric Ladyland)" and then ran through classics like The Beatles' "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window" and Led Zeppelin's "What Is and What Should Never Be," according to reports.

D'Angelo's next show is expected to be at the upcoming Essence Music Festival in New Orleans over the Fourth of July weekend, followed by a scheduled set during Jay-Z's Made in America fest in Philadelphia over Labor Day weekend.
