Latin night on Dancing with the Stars should send Melissa Gilbert packing

Last week, my beloved Sherri Shepherd got booted off Dancing with the Stars.  It was not her time to go.

I'm still mourning her loss this week, which was Latin Week.   Mr. Carlos Santana kicked off the night.  Not too shabby.

Jaleel kicked off the dancing with a crazy Samba. It was out of control, in a good way. Kym's choreography was fantastic. He got a 24, despite the judges talking him up.

It was great to finally see Melissa really own a dance, but her Salsa was a little "loosey goosey". She had moments when she really rocked it.  And then, it was like she was barely hanging on. The judges gave her a well-deserved 21.

Maria and Derek CRUSHED the Salsa portion of the evening. Yowza!  Hot, hot and then a little more hot. Derek is such a phenomenal choreographer and Maria is really coming into her own. I'm calling them the couple to beat. Maria got a 27. She crushed.

I love, love, love watching Katherine and Mark dance. Their Argentine Tango was poetry in motion. I've never seen a couple more in sync than those two. Maria and Derek may have crushed the Salsa, but Katherine and Mark dominated the Argentine Tango. The judges gave Katherine a 29.  Way to be the holdout, Len! Katherine deserved a 10, not a 9.

Gavin mentioned in his pre-dance package that he was going to be relying heavily on the fan vote. Umm, yeah. His Samba was rough. It sure looked like he was having fun, but that was about it.

Sloppy is the word that comes to mind. I hope your fans have your back, Gavin, because if it were up to me, you'd be out. I was shocked that Bruno actually gave him a 7 (the same score he gave to Melissa), because Gavin was definitely not equal to Melissa. The other judges gave him 6's for a total of 19.

Before he took the dance floor, I had absolutely no faith in William's performance. I was sure he was planning on riding out the competition on his looks. But va-va-voom, Cheryl and William really kicked up the hotness factor with their Argentine Tango. They were spot-on. Definitely in the same league as Katherine and Mark. They too, scored a 29.

Gladys Knight is SUCH a joy to watch. She has so much fun out there. She danced a Samba and it was adorable. I don't know if "adorable" was what she was going for, but I mean it.  I don't anticipate Gladys being on the show much longer, so let's enjoy her while we can. She better make the cut so she can be a part of Motown week! She got a 22. Go get 'em, Gladys!

I have not been a big fan of Roshon, but his Salsa was so enjoyable to watch. Carrie Ann hit the nail on the head when she said he was "appropriately sexy". He's a young kid and he didn't come across like he was William Levy, which in this case, is a good thing, because he's no William Levy. His score of 26 was appropriate as well.

Donald finished up the night with a mesmerizing Argentine Tango. I could not take my eyes off the screen. His performance was beyond powerful and I saw no mistakes. Len gave him an 8 which I found shocking. Donald owned the dance floor and he's clearly dying for a perfect score. He ended up with a 27.

I really want to see Gavin get kicked off. He's clearly not on par with the other dancers. However, I think his fans are coming on really strong since he was in the bottom 2, for 2 consecutive weeks. I hope that Gladys does not get the boot, because I really want to see her dance during Motown week.

So, despite the urging of a dear friend, I am not resurrecting my "a 'G' must go" prediction. I say Melissa is the next to visit the set of Kimmel.
