Singer MARC ANTHONY took to the stage in his native New York on Thursday night (09Aug12) to host a fundraiser for an orphanage in the Dominican Republic.
The Grammy Award winner co-founded the Maestro Cares Foundation, an organization which supports projects for underprivileged Latin American children.
The star hopes to raise enough money to open a new residence hall and learning facility for more than 200 youngsters living in an orphanage in La Romana, and he hosted an event at the Big Apple's El Museo del Barrio on Thursday to boost the cause.
In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Thank you to everyone showed their support at El Museo del Barrio for MaestroCares. You make... all the difference."
