Cop admits leaking Ronnie Wood arrest details

A former police officer has confessed to leaking information about the arrest of RONNIE WOOD to a British tabloid.

Alan Tierney was working for a police force in Surrey, England in 2009 when he gave details of the Rolling Stones star's arrest on a domestic violence charge to reporters at The Sun newspaper.

He also provided information on a case involving the family of England soccer player John Terry, and was allegedly paid a total of $2,800 .

Wood was arrested in December, 2009 for assault "in connection with a domestic incident" and was later given an official police caution. It followed a bust-up with his then-girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova.

Tierney admitted two charges of misconduct in public office at a court hearing in London on Friday (08Mar13). He will be sentenced later this month (Mar13).
