Ryan Raiche traded the snow for the heat in June 2011 when he made the move from northern Michigan to central Florida to join the ABC Action News team.
On most days you'll find Ryan out and about in Polk County, digging up the latest news and information. Ryan is a multi-media journalist based in Lakeland.
Before joining ABC Action News, Ryan worked at 9&10 News in Traverse City, Mich., where he covered a wide range of stories. During his five years there, Ryan reported on one of the largest wildfires in the state's history, he spoke exclusively with the sole survivor of a deadly plane crash in Lake Michigan, and regularly covered term limited Gov. Jennifer Granholm and the election of her successor, Gov. Rick Snyder.
While working in northern Michigan, the Associated Press awarded Ryan the Best Individual Reporting Award two years in a row. He has received numerous other awards through the AP and the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.
Ryan is a big fan of Detroit sports, mainly the Tigers and Lions. When he's not following their every move, Ryan enjoys to golf, run, read, and spend time with family and friends.
Ryan is always anxious to hear from people around Polk County and the rest of the bay area. If you have any story ideas, see something interesting, have suggestions, or just want to say "hi," please e-mail him at RRaiche@abcactionnews.com .
