TAMPA - Andrew Luria has been the weekend sports anchor at ABC Action News since May 2010.
He played football and baseball at Cornell University, where he was coached by then-assistant Raheem Morris, now the head coach of the Bucs. He also played semi-pro baseball for the Santa Barbara Foresters with then-teammate James Shields, now a star pitcher for the Rays.
He joined the station from CBS 13 in Sacramento, and has also spent time in various roles at KCOY in Santa Maria, CA ; KIEM in Eureka, CA; KEYT in Santa Barbara, CA ; WVBR in Ithaca, NY and WBIG in Washington, D.C.
Andrew is a native of the nation's capital, and has been influenced in his career by broadcasters like George Michael, Fred Roggin, Steve Hartman and the late Glenn Brenner, and by writers like Rick Reilly.
Away from work, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife, Elyssa, their sons Jackson and Nathan, and their two dogs, Emma and Charlie. He is also writing his first book, a historical fiction sports story for kids.
