TAMPA BAY - Today, ABC Action News launches the 2011 Taking Action Against Domestic Violence campaign.
According to Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence President Tiffany Carr this annual campaign, now in year three, has saved lives. In addition to the Coalition, we also work with local advocates across the Tampa Bay area.
You will see public service announcements, awareness on the topic featured on Positively Tampa Bay and special reports on Thursdays at 5pm only on ABC Action News.
Join us for a one hour primetime special on Friday October 14th from 8pm-9pm. You will hear stories of survival, hope and healing. We will also be profiling the statewide domestic violence hotline, a powerful weapon in the fight against abuse.
Just by calling 1-800-500-1119 you will be linked to the nearest domestic violence center. The call remains anonymous and untraceable. Together, we can break the cycle of abuse.
