| The Postal Service’s Suncoast District is hiring City Carrier Assistant 1 (CCA) positions to work at Post Offices with ZIP Codes beginning with the following three digits: 321, 327, 328, 329, 335, 336, 337, 338, 339, 341, 342, 346 and 347. Applicants must apply January 23 through January 27, on line at www.usps.com. Paper applications will not be accepted. CCAs will deliver and collect mail on foot or by vehicle under varying road and weather conditions in a prescribed area. Salary is $15 per hour, with limited benefits including raises, paid vacation days and access to health insurance as required by law or after the first 360-day term, whichever comes first. Applicants will be required to work Saturdays and weekdays as needed; work days may include Sundays and holidays; nonscheduled days vary. The CCA position is the career ladder for possible future employment as a full-time career city carrier. Applicants must live within commuting distance of the specified ZIP Code area(s) in order to be eligible, as the work is performed in offices within these ZIP Code areas and candidates will need to be present for screening activities, including an interview. Veterans who are entitled to Veterans preference and/or covered by the Veterans Employment Opportunity Act may apply for any position. Applicants must be 18 years or older. Applicants must have a valid state driver’s license, a safe driving record, and at least two years of documented driving experience. Qualified applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening to meet the U.S. Postal Service's requirement to be drug free. Applicants must also be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident alien status.
