TAMPA BAY, FL -- Hurricane season officially kicked off June 1, and ABC Action News wants you to be prepared!
NOAA forecasts 9 to 14 named tropical storms this season, with 4 to 7 becoming hurricanes and 1 to 3 expected to become major storms.

The Hurricane Center features the latest news as well as our weather updates from Twitter so you can get all of the hurricane news you need as soon as it becomes available. Additionally, you can view satellite maps as well as lists of active depressions and hurricanes in the Atlantic and the Pacific.
Need to know your evacuation zone or emergency contacts for your county? We have evacuation maps for Bay area counties as well as emergency contact information, including the American Red Cross.
To help you face any emergency that may develop, we have a hurricane checklist, a list of steps to take to prepare your family, and tips to keep you an your family safe before, during, and after the storm.
