TAMPA, FL -- The Consumer Product Safety Commission says Chinese drywall does not put families at risk for exposure to radiation.

The CPSC says in response to some recent news reports they tested multiple samples of Chinese drywall collected by the agency and the Florida Department of Health.

They say they analyzed a total of 21 samples from homes exhibiting copper corrosion, odors and other common homeowner complaints.

The CPSC has received over 500 complaints from homeowners about Chinese drywall. The Florida Department of Health has fielded 573 from Florida homeowners as of last Thursday.

The CPSC says it will continue to investigate and find solutions to the defective drywall problem.
