CRITICAL CONDITION: Health care bill would cap spending accounts

TAMPA, FL -- Bills in both the House and Senate would cap contributions to Flexible Spending Accounts at $2,500.

The Associated Press reports "capping contributions to the accounts would raise more than $13 billion over 10 years to help pay for Democratic health care legislation because it would limit the amount of employees' income that is exempt from taxation."

Many people rely on Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) as a way to offset health care expenses, pre-tax. There are no federal limits on FSA accounts today, though most employers do place a cap on them well above $2,500.

If you have a FSA and are worried about the cap, email Kerry Kavanaugh.
