So here we are, one year removed from the Rays run at the World Series. This time around, the Phillies are back, against the 200M dollar pay rolled Yankees.

This time the Yankees made the right moves to dust the best of the rest in the American League.

C.C. Sabathia in the starting rotation and Mark Teixeira at 1st might make the difference in the end.

What makes this series so intriguing is that Philadelphia has a pretty powerful lineup in their own right.

We saw what they were able to do against the Rays last year in the World Series. Phillies have enough in their lineup to do the same against New York, especially if they can get into the Yankees bullpen. Jimmy Rollins, Shane Victorino, and Chase Utley are all never-give-up hitters.

Joba Chamberlain and Phil Hughes have been shaky in relief for New York.

What Philadelphia also has on their side is World Series experience. It’s basically the same team that went a year ago.

Where the Yankees have the edge for sure is closer. Mariano Rivera is the best in the business. Phillies closer Brad Lidge has struggled this season. If he can regain the form he had in the post-season a year ago, the Phillies will be a tough bunch to beat.

I’m taking the Phillies to beat the Yankees in 6 games.
