If such information hurts, it doesn't mean it's wrong. I guess it just depends on whether you define fan base as those who show up when you make the playoffs or those who show up during a typical season. Players almost always define fans as those who stick with you when you're down. The Redskins have enough fans around the country that if Snyder decided he could make more money moving the team all the way across the country to Los Angeles, they'd probably be sold out 10 years in advance(Side note: a study found that the Redskins are the second most popular non-california team in LA).
