Just when it seemed the Bulls were getting into the game, the Bearcats ripped off a big play.
None bigger than the QB draw which resulted in a 75 TD run by….not super star Tony Pike, but back up Zach Collaros.
Collaros, in for an injured Pike who sprained his left wrist in the first half, romped down the field putting Cincinnati up 24-10 midway through the 3rd quarter, and essentially squashed any hopes of the Bulls defeating a top 15 team at home for the third season in a row.
Bulls freshman QB BJ Daniels showed signs of flash, but not much substance. Daniels seems to spend more time running between the hashes then running north and south. He finished the night a pedestrian 15-32 for 208 yards, throwing 1 td and 2 int’s, and rushing for another 74 yards and 1 td.
The final reads 34-17 Cincinnati, it marks the Bearcats forth straight win against USF. The Bulls fall to 5-1. USF will next face off against Pittsburgh in the Steel City on Oct 24.
