He couldn’t do it again, could he?

Josh Freeman was on the verge of getting the keys to the city, and being the master of ceremonies of any Crewe he wanted.  But the comeback fell short, thanks to a defensive collapse in the games final minute.

But lets rewind.  Trailing by 13 second half point, the Bucs and Freeman began to right a familiar script.

A 33 yard rainbow from Freeman to Maurice Stovall to open the 4th quarter had the Bucs within 6 points, 22-16.

A Quincy Black interception with less than 2 minutes to play had the Bucs in position to win.

A 1 yard touchdown by Cadillac Williams had the Bucs leading 23-22 with just over a minute to play.

But the defense could not close the door as they did a week ago.  No, it wasn’t Aaron Rodgers leading a game winning 77 yard drive in the closing seconds, it was second year QB Chad Henne.

Say it ain’t so, Danny Carpenters 25 yard field goal in the closing seconds sinks the Bucs to an 1-8 record…oh ya, undefeated New Orleans comes to town next week.
