Thin Pavers Provide an Affordable Enhancement for Outdoor Surfaces

Why Thin Pavers for your remodeling project?

Everyone knows that pavers enhance the look and value of your home. In fact, a recent article in the June, 2007 edition of Money Magazine stated, "Adding pavers to your home is one of the easiest things that a homeowner can do to add value to their home." Thin pavers can save you thousands of dollars on your remodeling project versus the traditional application of 2 3/4 inch brick pavers. Cost savings to the home owner is realized through the overlay process. The THINDEX OVERLAY SYSTEM features one inch concrete intrerlocking brick pavers. These are typically installed on a 1/4 inch or less base of sand over an existing pool deck, patio or driveway. This eliminates the need to excavate the old surface and reapply a new foundation. Customers can save considerable money through the elimination of this step alone. Combine that facet, with the reduced disruption and upheaval that can occur on a job site, and it’s easy to see why more and more people are opting for thin pavers for their remodeling projects.

Another benefit of the overlay process is the elimination of cracking that occurs on concrete and acrylic surfaces commonly found on pool decks, patios and driveways. Because the thin pavers are not adhered to the subsurface, cracks that occur on the old surface do not manifest themselves in the thin pavers. A one time application of thin pavers avoids the need to reapply new acrylic surfaces, commonly known as "cool deck" as well as stamped concrete. Our Florida climate often mandates the need to resurface those applications every two to four years as cracking is unavoidable with these surfaces because of their non flexural characteristics.

Due to the growing popularity of thin pavers in the state, there is an abundance of installers and tradesmen who profess to be experienced in this application. However, consumers are urged to consult C&D Thin Pavers and Coping. Their reputation in the industry and long history of specialization in the production of thin paver and coping products, gives them access to the most reputable craftsman. With this frequent interaction comes feedback from home owners, both positive and occasionally negative. A referral to a preferred THINDEX installer(s) from C&D is the best way to ensure a quality installation by a licensed and insured contractor.

Customers are encouraged to inquire about warranty and maintenance guidelines as these will vary amongst installers.

About C&D Thin Pavers & Coping
C&D Thin Pavers and Coping is headquartered in Largo, Florida in the heart of the Tampa Bay-St. Petersburg area. The company has been in business since January of 2000 and specializes in the production of 1 1/8" thin pavers and coping products. Our owners bring over 30 years of combined experience in the brick paver industry. We also have an in-house team of sales and marketing experts that specialize in promoting the benefits of our products to both residential consumers as well as commercial properties. In addition to our Largo home office, we also have an operation in the Orlando area servicing Central Florida including Daytona-Melbourne-Ocala and Jacksonville, and an operation in the Orange County, CA area servicing Southern California. Our distribution network is national as we frequently ship products across the United States.

Our unique position in the brick paver industry is our commitment to the exclusive production of thin paver and coping products for pool decks, patios, driveways, and walkways. As a result, our availability of these products is traditionally less than that of paver manufacturers that produce both standard thick pavers as well as thin pavers. We manufacture products that no other company produces including the popular Bishop’s Hat paver. This is often the product of choice on large pool decks commonly found on commercial properties such as hotels, condominiums and community pools.

We have a network of authorized “Thindex Installers” both statewide and across the country which are familiar with the thin paver overlay system. Consumers interested in the application are encouraged to contact us for the installers in their geographic area.

Our showrooms in Largo and Orlando, FL and Laguna Hills, CA are staffed by knowledgeable representatives to assist in product selection as well as to answer questions about the appropriate product for your specific application.
