ORLANDO, FL -- Christopher Brown found himself under arrest after he shoved and elbowed a pair of police officers named Noble and Peanuts.

He just thought they were just horses.

Mounted patrol officers were trying to clear the street outside an Orlando nightclub.  They say Brown, 25, and some friends refused to move.

At one point, according to an affadavit, Brown shoved Noble and elbowed the horse in the face.  He reportedly had also shoved Peanut in the neck.

Officers say Brown made a fist and was winding up to punch Noble when he was tackled and arrested.

He was charged with two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer and one count of disorderely conduct.  $1,750 in bail money got him out of jail.

In an e-mail to the Orlando Sentinel, a police spokeswoman said, "[T]hey are an extension of the officer doing his lawful duty. You shouldn't punch a horse anyways."
