This is a double standard.If it had been the other way around,those dogs would of at least been taken away,checked out.Doesn't make a difference on the size of a dog,a bite is a bite. What if it had been a smaller child? Fair,is fair.The owner should of been better at keeping the dog inclosed....Its the owners job to be sure the animals is secured....I am happy the child will be alrlight....

i have a dachsie and yes it is the fight in the dog not the other way around. What the issue is is this: Owners please quit letting your dogs run u! Aren't you supposed the be the smarter one? uh-huh. a well behaved polite animal is what all animal (lovers) should aim for. If your not the pack leader, the alpha dog however you want to put, yes this is exactly what will happen. little dogs are notorious for such behavior because they are soooooooo cute. yep they are. but hey shouldn't we correct them too. if your not doing this, then you are being an irresponsible dog owner and you should go get professional info to correct your issues with your animals. And for God's sake people WALK YOUR DOGS! I love pitbulls! my best friend has one, my son has one and would rather (other that my own) trust them with children than little dogs! Wow, TaraC, did you even read the article? Those supposedly "mean" dogs juat looked on in wonder at the three aggressive Dachshunds. Those weiner dogs even bit the girl! And no charges filed? No dog bite report filed? No apology from the Dachshunds' owner? Talk about your double standard! Those three dogs should have been quarantined and the owner fined 3 counts of allowing their animal to run loose. There should be NO EXCUSE regardless of the breed.
