Taking Action in Our Community
ABC Action News is taking action for our female Veterans.
The Veterans Administration estimates there are 8,000 homeless, female veterans in the United States. Hundreds of them are in Tampa Bay.
Now, there is a new place for these women to turn to for help and hope.
The Athena Program is a long term housing solution for homeless, female Veterans. The program is designed to help these women get back on their feet.
Crossroads of Tampa has renovated the historic Ybor building, to house 16 women. Now, ABC Action News is teaming up with the Athena Program, taking action with your help to furnish this building.
