Teen's cousin questioned in Haleigh Cummings case

Last Update: 2/20 2:18 pm

PUTNAM COUNTY, FL -- Officials with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office says the cousin of Misty Croslin is under investigation in the Haleigh Cummings (photos) case.

It's been eleven days since the 5-year-old Satsuma girl disappeared from her double-wide mobile home. Authorities believe she was abducted.

According to reports, Croslin's cousin was in Putnam County the night Haleigh went missing. He left for Tennessee shortly thereafter.

"I just don't trust him...he's gotten into a lot of trouble," Croslin told a reporter with WFTV.

Croslin appeared on the Today Show Friday morning and said basically the same thing to Matt Lauer.  "He's a criminal pretty much, he's been in trouble his whole life. I don't trust him," Croslin said.

She added she hasn't seen her cousin since he left Putnam County.

Croslin said she was allowed back in the double-wide home on Monday.  It was the first time she'd been inside since Haleigh went missing.

She originally said that Haleigh (photos) was wearing a pink Hannah Montana top when she disappeared.  But while in the home on Monday, she said she found the shirt in a pile of laudry by the back door.

She said she has no idea how it got there.

Authorities say they've received more that 1,200 leads in the case.
