I am horrified and outraged by this segment. Thank you Wendy Ryan for bringing this to the public attention. It is unfortunately, not surprising. Since moving to Tampa Bay Greater Area in 2004 I have never been so sick from eating out. Bill L. Veach should be personally held accountable for allowing these business to stay open with full knowledge that people could become seriously ill and in worse case scenario leading to death. No punishment for fines not being paid sounds suspicious, more like someone’s pocket is being foiled with dirty money. I will not hesitate to write to Mel Martinez about this issue. Thank you very much and keep up the good work Wendy Ryan.

Obviously...nobody wants to be put out of business but apparently this Veach guy needs to be taught how to do his job. If the law says a resturaunt needs to be shut down then he needs to enforce the rule. That is one way people learn. You want it...keep it cleaned or get it taken away. Obviously these resturaunt owners are not getting the punishment they need due to the constant rise in fines and furthermore... if the main concern is public safety then can you please tell me again why these dirty resturaunts are still opened and surving food?
