ORANGE COUNTY, FL -- Casey Anthony's attorney fired back at prosecutors Tuesday, saying he has no conflict in interest and has no rights to sell Casey's story.
Orange County prosecutors want Baez to answer questions about where the money is coming from to pay for Casey's high-power defense team.
Baez wants circuit judge Stan Strickland to turn down the state's request to probe the claims.
"It is the Defense's position that this motion has been filed solely to harass and embarrass the Defendant's counsel," Baez wrote in his objection.
Casey (photos) weighed in as well. She accused Assistant State Attorney Jeff Ashton of being being motivated by vengence.
At the bottom of a typed affadavit, she added in her own handwriting, "I believe that Mr. Ashton is angry because I have refused to take a plea agreement for a crime that I DID NOT commit."
The affadivt also states that Casey has no agreements to sell her "story" or "that of my daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony."
Baez has refused to answer questions about Casey's defense funding. He says he's done nothing unethical and that it's nobody's business.
Casey is charged with killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony (photos), whose remains were discovered last December.
