ORLANDO, FL (AP) -- The bounty hunter and bail bondsmen who posted Casey Anthony's $500,000 bond say they were surprised the Florida mother never shed tears over her missing toddler after being released from jail last year.
California bounty hunter Leonard Padilla and his colleagues said in police interviews released Friday the 23-year-old mother acted "chirpy" and "perky" after her release from jail. The interviews were released by the State Attorney's Office in Orlando.
An e-mail to a spokeswoman for Anthony's attorney was not immediately answered.
In one police interview, Tracy McLaughlin, who was part of the bail bondsmen team, said Anthony didn't appear to have a grasp on reality. For instance, Anthony had McLaughlin wear a watch on her ankle to match the monitoring device that Anthony was wearing. McLaughlin also described Anthony as narcissistic yet likable.
McLaughlin was with Anthony around the clock in the days after she was released from jail in August 2008 to protect the bail bondsmen's investment in Anthony.
"I'm thinking, 'She's not even upset. Not a word about her daughter,"' McLaughlin said. "It was unbelievable."
Meanwhile, prosecutors filed new documents that could establish a chilling link between Casey Anthony's home and duct tape found with Caylee Anthony's body.
According to the documents released Thursday, duct tape found on a gas can that was in Casey's car matches tape found attached to the toddler's remains.
The material is extremely rare industrial grade fire-resistant duct tape.
Proscutors say they plan to introduce the records at Casey's murder trial that show only 134,000 rolls of the tape were sold in North America in 2006 and 2007.
While that may sound like a lot, it's estimated it represents about 0.2 percent of all duct tape sold in the U.S. in those years.
Orlando station WKMG reported the odds of finding the same tape on a gas can and with Caylee's remains are 250,000 to 1.
An FBI lab report says the tape from the body and gas can are "comparable to one another in all physical attributes and in the chemical composition of their backing and adhesive components."
They also both had identical imprints: 'Henkel Consumer Adhesives, Inc. - Avon, OH 44011...MAX TEMP 200F'
Then there was another setback for Casey's defense on Thursday.
Circuit Judge Stan Strickland ruled that Casey's check forgery trial will be held before her murder trial. The defense wanted it held after the murder case was finished.
Legal analysts say that could pose a sticky situation if she's convicted on the check charges.
If Casey (photos) were to be asked if she's ever been convicted of a crime, she would have to say 'yes.'
Casey is accused of taking checks from a friend and cashing them.
In her murder case, Casey is accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter, whose remains were found near the Anthony home last December. Casey said a babysitter took Caylee (photos).
Her murder trial is expected to take place sometime next year.
