High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is a heavily debated food ingredient. Some argue that it has significantly contributed to the obesity epidemic, while others say it is fine in moderation.

Either way, it may be something you want to avoid. But before you take another bite of your health bar, you may want to check the ingredients. It could contain HFCS.

DivineCaroline has compiled a list of surprising foods that contain HFCS so that you know what to look out for. If you see one of your food staples on the list, don't panic. The site also lists non-HFCS solutions.

One example? Juice cocktails.

If it isn't 100% juice, chances are it contains HFCS. Instead, buy 100% juice, or just eat the fruit. You'll get the fiber benefits as well.
