Superstitions are common in the kitchen.

They can come from fellow cooks, or more often from moms who are simply passing along the advice that they have lived by for years.

Whatever the source, kitchen myths exist, but the truth is out there.

Myth #1: The best place to store your coffee is the fridge or the freezer.

This myth is false. Coffee should actually be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. And you shouldn't keep ground coffee for more than a week, or whole beans for more than two weeks.
