CLEARWATER, FL -- Two people were injured early Tuesday morning when a mobile home caught fire on Gulf to Bay Blvd.

Clearwater Fire and Rescue officials responded to the blaze just after 4 a.m., at New Ranch Mobile Home Park. Firefighters could see smoke and flames coming from the unit.

It took firefighters 20 minutes to get the fire under control. They say wind was a factor, but they were able to keep the fire from spreading to nearby units.

Officials said the two injured residents were already out of the mobile home when crews arrived. Both were treated at the scene by firefighters and taken to Tampa General Hospital as trauma alert patients.

The victims were identified as a 41-year-old woman and 43-year-old man, but their names were not released.

The State Fire Marshal's Office and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office are now investigating the cause of the fire.
