PALM HARBOR, FL -- A Pinellas County Sheriff's Deputy was taken to the hospital early Wednesday morning after an accident on U.S. 19 and Curlew Road.

Officials say the deputy had minor injuries after his patrol car was rear-ended in a chain reaction crash.

The two other drivers involved were not hurt.

Officials shut down the Northbound lanes of Curlew Road for more than an hour while they investigated the crash and cleared the wreckage.

Deputies have not said whether any charges will be filed.
