Tampa crime report card due today

TAMPA, FL -- Police Chief Jane Castor will join Mayor Pam Iorio this morning to reveal the latest crime trends for the city.

Castor and Iorio will speak from Police Headquarters on North Franklin Street at 10:00 a.m.

The announcement comes just one day after an overall Hillsborough County analysis showed a drop in crime.

In 2009, Property crimes fell 9% from the 2008 numbers. Violent crimes dropped even more, falling 21% year over year.
