Last Update: 8/13 4:17 pm
A Lincoln woman didn't end up in jail when she was arrested for DUI, so she tried again and was successful.

Lincoln Police Officer John Hudec pulled over 33-year-old Claudia Bustamante around 1:00am after he saw her turn left from a non-turn lane without signaling then swerve.

Hudec took Bustamante to detox, where her blood alcohol content registered at more than twice the legal limit.

After citing Bustamante with driving under the influence and negligent driving, Hudec took to the streets again to patrol. Just after 3:00am, he noticed a car straddling the center line down a street.

The car was different, but the driver was familiar. It was Bustamante, and she was being followed by her boyfriend in the car had been driving 2 hours earlier.

Hudec pulled Bustamante over, cited her with driving under the influence and negligent driving once more, and then took her too jail. Her BAC registered just under two times the legal limit.

Bustamante was bailed out by lunchtime the next day, but had the privelage of experiencing detox and jail in one night.
