Don't blame me, blame the 12-year-old behind the wheel

Last Update: 8/10/2009 12:54 pm
A Muncie, Indiana man is facing charges after he put a 12-year-old-girl in the driver's seat in an attempt to avoid a drunken driving arrest.

James Storie, 32, was pulled over by Delaware County deputy Bill Curtis on suspicion of driving under the influence.

By the time Curtis walked up to the vehicle, Stonie's girlfriend's daughter was in the driver's seat.

Storie later admitted that he was driving the van. He registered a blood-alcohol content of .17 percent.

Storie's girlfriend Jennifer Roberts defended her boyfriend, saying that Stonie was letting her daughter drive around the block and that the 12-year-old had driven 20 times before.

Johnson is the owner of the van.

Stonie was preliminarily charged with neglect of a dependent and driving while intoxicated.
