A Quincy man was arrested after he broke into a moving truck, hoping to steal items to sell for drug money.

When police responded to a report of a man breaking into a moving truck, the owner of the truck told them he was sitting in the cab and felt the truck move and heard the back door open and close.

He quickly got out of the truck, latched the door closed, and called police. He said he didn't know if the man was armed.

Police opened the door and found 49-year-old Frank Tibbetts of Quincy.

Tibbetts allegedly told police he was driven by his drug habit.

"I was just looking for something to steal so I could sell it to buy drugs," Tibbetts told cops, according to the police report.

Tibbetts was arrested and charged with felony breaking and entering in the daytime.

If Tibbetts hadn't been caught, his plan was still destined to fail.

The driver had just made an office equipment delivery and the back of the truck was empty when Tibbetts crawled in.
