We'd like to introduce you to local Jefferson Awards Nominee, Candy Grubbs of Bartow. Miss Grubbs is a cancer survivor, who has chaired the Bartow Relay for Life.

Close friend, Janet Benton, nominated her for this award.Benton has known Miss Grubs for the past 20 years, and shared the following with us:

We think Candy Grubbs is an angel on earth.  Because of her, the small town
of Bartow has placed 3rd and 10th out of 248 relays statewide in fundraising for cancer
research.  Candy serves on several boards of directors including the Polk County Youth
Fair, American Cancer Society, Hospice and others.  She is always there for neighbors,
friends and even strangers.  Candy shows so many acts of kindness everyday.
