I too fell for the scam but from another manufacturer called Extreme Acai Berry. Sent for a sample as per advertisement and paid for the shipping. My sample arrived later than the 14 day trial so when I phoned and cancelled it was too late. My Visa was already charged for another shipment for US$89.31. I immediately wrote a letter with a copy to my Visa company questioning their business practices which borders on the illegal and once again cancelling the order. So far so good. Nowhere was there a mention of future shipments or the cost involved. This company is situated in Utah. I am out $100.00. A bitter lesson learned. Why are these questionable business practices allowed to continue?

I too ordered the Acai berry/Life Cleanse. They both were free trial offer which included postage/handleing ($3.95/$4.95 each),but much to my surprise I was billed for the total amount of $87.95 before I received both bottles. I tried calling the number listed on my bank statement and much to my surprise it was disconnected. This company states money back guarantee, to my loss no working number/or no one answers the other numbers listed on the web site. I have already cancelled my bank card to stop this fraud from continuing. What can I do about getting my money back? Anyone! Sheila 2/14/2009

Here is an excellent article about this acai berry scam. It is really an "auto-ship" scam and it affects other products not just acai berry. Check this out for details on how the scam works. Go here http://acaiberry-products.com/blog/the-truth-about-free-acai-berry-offers/

There are almost a hundred acai berry diet pill scam companies out there, not just acai-pure. You can find more at acai-cam dot com.

I ordered acai and to me I don't see where I have lost any weight.Maybe in the beginning it made me feel like I had more energy, but after a couple of weeks it was back to normal for me.It's not what I thought it would be.

Re: tpaewr33. I had a similar experience with the same firm. They were aggressive to the point of being rude, trying to sell me more than the one "free" computer course. I called three times trying to reach an agent that would just agree to send me one class. I finally gave up. Shortly thereafter I heard from a friend that also had to battle to have them stop charging for things that they didn't ask for. Of course if the FTC steps in with the same effectiveness that they did with "Bob" and his "male enhancement" Enzyte, we can be sure Nothing will happen. They were fine $500-million and agreed to stop their deceptive advertising. Guess what? Bob's back. The ad sure looks the same to me. Best bet, read columns like this one and beware of Acai, Video Professor and, of course "Bob".

The same thing happened to me with Video Professor. They insisted they would charge me $1 for a 30 day test run, and $700.00 later, I had to cancel my bank card. They would charge a dollar here, 10 there. I have the records of all of it.
