Striking the perfect balance between work and family is something Stephanie Roberts strives for every day, and ABC Action News This Morning gives her a great solution. Stephanie forecasts the weather Monday through Friday for the morning and noon shows, and then spends the rest of the day chasing around her young children. Stephanie is the mother of two: A daughter, Reagan, who is 8, and a son, Ryan, who is 4. Stephanie says she is thankful everyday for the time she has with her children and for the flexibility of her morning schedule. The one thing she lacks in life: sleep!

Stephanie was born in Wheaton, Ill., a Chicago suburb. She graduated from Penn State University and remains an avid Nittany Lion and Big Ten football fan.  The Accuweather center is decorated in Penn State blue and white, as Chief Meteorologist Denis Phillips is also a Penn State grad.  Stephanie holds a BA in Journalism and recently completed her meteorology coursework through Mississippi State University. She has earned both the NWA and AMS Seals of Approval.

Stephanie has covered both news and weather in her more than 10-year career, and all in very cold and snowy climates! She started behind the scenes in Chicago at NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV. She moved to Rochester, MN to become a news and weather anchor for KAAL-TV. She then spent several years in Toledo at WNWO-TV as a primary evening news anchor. Stephanie moved her family to Cleveland in 1999 to anchor the morning news and forecast weather for WOIO Channel 19. She also covered Cleveland sports teams for channel 19. Stephanie then joined the Scripps family in 2002 at sister Cleveland station WEWS as their morning meteorologist.   She left Cleveland in 2006 and moved to Tampa with her family.  Stephanie has been a freelance meteorologist at several area TV stations before joining the ABC Action News morning show in October 2008.

When she’s not at work, you can find Stephanie on the sidelines or in the dugout at her kids’ baseball and soccer games, or planting flowers in her yard.  She loves to play tennis, bike and run, and she is also a professionally trained singer and pianist who has sung the national anthem around the country at professional sporting events.
