Representing a major shift in where people turn for local news, weather and sports in the Tampa Bay area, ABC Action News on WFTS-TV won the 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. M-F news competition in the highly sought after Adult 25-54 and Women 25-54 demographics for November 2012. In these most important of newscast time periods, six news stations are showcased in the Tampa-St Petersburg-Sarasota television market and viewers have made the clear choice to turn to ABC Action News. November marked the first time ABC Action News won all three early evening newscasts in A25-54.

The first place finish for ABC Action News at 11 p.m. comes just after the recent A25-54 ratings wins in September and October. It also marks 10 months in a row of winning the W25-54 demographic. With only one month to go, ABC Action News at 11 p.m. leads the year in both A25-54 and W25-54.

ABC Action News also has the unique distinction of being the only news station in the Bay area to have ratings growth (A25-54) over the past year in every M-F newscast:
• ABC Action News in the morning from 5-7a.m. grew 18% in A25-54 rating.
• ABC Action News at Noon increased 33% over this time last year.
• ABC Action News from 5-6:30 p.m. had year-to-year A25-54 ratings increases in EVERY half hour.
• 5 p.m. was up 70%.
• 5:30 p.m. increased 89%.
• 6 p.m. was up an impressive 111%.
• ABC Action News at 11 p.m. grew by 38%.
