ABC Action News Strengthens Role as Local News Leader

Wins 5-6:30pm and Surpasses All Other 11pm & 10pm News!

For the third year in a row ABC Action News at 11pm has won the highly competitive May sweeps in the most sought after Adult 25-54 and Women 25-54 demographics. In this important newscast time period, six news stations are showcased in the Tampa-St Petersburg-Sarasota television market and viewers have made the clear choice to turn to ABC Action News WFTS-TV.

The May 2013 results beat all other late night newscasts, including the local Fox affiliate 10pm newscast during a season of American Idol lead-ins. ABC Action News at 11pm also has the unique distinction of being the only news station in the Bay area to have both ratings and share growth (A25-54) from year-to-year.

A first place finish in the demographics from 5-6:30pm is more evidence that news viewing habits in the Bay area continue to change and ABC Action News WFTS-TV continues to grow as the market leader . ABC Action News not only won A25-54 and W25-54 in May, the news is currently number one for the year in both of these key demos. May 2013 also marks 14 consecutive months of winning the time period in W25-54.
