Free shot clinic for dogs and cats to fight increase in rabies cases

TAMPA - In response to the increase of rabies cases across Hillsborough County, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay will hold a free shot clinic for owned dogs, cats and community cats in traps on Saturday, Aug. 24.

Free DA2PP/FVRCP and rabies vaccinations will be available to the first 500 animals that show up.

Free licenses will also be available for residents from the 33624 zip code; a valid ID is required.

Pet owners must be Hillsborough County residents.  Dogs and cats must be at least 8-weeks-old to receive DA2PP/FVRCP vaccines and at least 3-months-old to receive rabies vaccinations. Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers or traps. The clinic is limited to four pets pre household.

It will be held at Northdale Park, 15550 Spring Pine Drive in Tampa, from 9 a.m. to 11 .a.m
